For a number of years, live music, particularly the Blues, was a passion for me. I’ve never played a note myself so my photography was my way of giving back to the music world I loved so much. At one point, I was not only providing shots for a the website canadianblues.ca, but I was doing written reviews for them as well. In 2010, I entered three shots in the Beaches Jazz Festival photo contest. All three were accepted and one shot, called Shrimp Daddy, won first prize. You can see that shot in the Banner above.
When a went to a club or a festival, I would take a number of photos. I would choose the best one and print two copies. When I next saw that artist, I would take those photos with me, give one to the artist and have them sign the other for my collection. I ended up with more than 50 signed photos. A number of my photos were use as CD covers.
As time went by, life got busy, the Blues website closed down and one of my favorite Blues clubs, The Silver Dollar, also closed. So I kind of lost interest. This gallery is full of many shots taken over approximately 15 or 20 years. It includes many local and international artists. Enjoy.
